The third in my Jack Canfield series is:
Give up Blame…Give up Excuses! Ask for What You Want
Everything that is happening in your life is a reflection of your relationship with yourself! I’ll say that again. Everything that happens in your life is a reflection of your relationship with yourself.
So what’s the good news/bad news, you ask? If you don’t like your life or certain things going on in it, all you have to do is change the relationship with yourself and everything changes very quickly.
For example, let’s say that you are having a problem with wealth. Sometimes you have plenty of money and other times you can hardly pay your bills.
This kind of economic roller coaster can make life very trying. So what do you do?
Take a look at your relationship with you and try to see where you withhold. Or is it that you love yourself conditionally? Sometimes you’re hot and you know it, but most of the time you drive yourself crazy with self-criticism. You lavish praise, then you withhold…just like your money situation, here today, gone tomorrow.
Somewhere within your relationship with yourself lies the answer to why sometimes money loves you and sometimes it eludes you.
Always look first within yourself before you waste any time on blame or self-pity.
Most of the time we love ourselves conditionally. We withhold love the moment we are imperfect or disappointing. We hardly ever give ourselves a break and acknowledge that we are human.
Try consciously loving yourself without conditions. Just be there with a gentle, loving spirit instead of a condemning pointing finger. We are human and imperfect by nature. That’s why we came to Earth school.
Your wants and desires are an important part of learning what we came here to learn so start asking for what you want. Don’t let fear stop you. Ask yourself, “What’s the worst thing that could happen?” Usually it’s nothing more than hearing the word “No”. We’ve all heard that before and seem to have survived the trauma of it.
Here’s the best reason to ask for what you want…you might get it. In fact a lot of the time you will. But if fear prevents you from ever taking the risk, if instead you spend your life focusing on blame and excuses, you’ll never know the joy of getting what you want. Give it a shot. You’re worth it.
What do you have to loose?
